Here’s my philosophy to life: believe whatever you want, so long as you do not harm anybody.
It was the 28th of October 2023, and I was invited as a guest to a friend’s gig at the Playa Dubai, which in their own words,
“…aims to transcend its physicality to become that feeling of renewed vigour for life, experienced through all the senses.”
The setting seemed apt. The time was right. The characters were in place.
I decided to get my tarot card reading done.
To the uninitiated – tarot reading is a form of fortune-telling. Whilst I do not fully believe in these things, I dabble.
In the game of life; I make choices every day. I play my hand and pay close attention to the events that take place, and the signs I get from the universe.
My guy Michael Scott summed it up best:
I sat down with the reader, who explained I had to pick three cards, and she would explain the meaning behind each.
I picked the Knight of Wands, The Hierophant, and The High Priestess.
Whilst I cannot recall what she said verbatim, I will cherry-pick the general meaning behind each card:
The Knight of Wands – as a person, the Knight of Wands is an adult (20-35 years of age and usually male) who is charming, adventurous, energetic, warm and exciting. He may be a fire sign such as Aries, Leo or Sagittarius. He will be fearless, confident and self-assured. He believes he knows best and is a man of action. He is heroic, rebellious, brave and a revolutionary with an open mind and a free spirit. He is sexy, warm and charming but can be quite cold and uncaring to anyone who tries to tame him or restrict his freedom in any way and he is a shameless flirt. He can also be hasty and at times can rush into action without thinking things through and has a hot temper.
My interpretation: Oh, stop it, you…I am indeed sexy, warm, and charming! I am a free-spirited Leo; an incorrigible flirt; and believe I know best. Sometimes, to a fault.
The Hierophant – If you are single, this card signifies a new relationship on the horizon which will be built on commitment, love and security.
My interpretation: Sounds good; after years of working on myself, I’m ready for a loving, healthy relationship where we push each other to be our best selves.
The High Priestess – when the High Priestess appears in a tarot reading, she indicates that now is the time to trust your instincts and go with your gut feeling.
